Atalanta is anticipating the sale of Berat Djimsiti to Al-Diriyah, prompting the club to explore defensive reinforcements. Among the potential candidates to fill the void are Jean-Clair Todibo of West Ham, Lazio's Alessio Romagnoli, and Udinese's Thomas Kristensen.

Multiple reports suggest that Djimsiti has expressed a desire for a transfer following a lucrative two-year contract offer from Saudi Pro League club Al-Diriyah. The proposed transfer fee is also reportedly around €3 million, a figure considered acceptable by the Bergamo-based club.

Atalanta's Search for Defensive Reinforcements

Talks between Atalanta and West Ham United for Todibo have been previously indicated, with the French defender being a primary target. However, it is likely that any deal for Todibo would involve a loan arrangement with an option to purchase at the conclusion of the season.

A more intriguing prospect could be Alessio Romagnoli. Having previously worked effectively with Maurizio Sarri at Lazio, Romagnoli appears to be disinclined to remain at the Stadio Olimpico. Despite initial plans for him to join Al-Sadd in Qatar, negotiations have reportedly encountered further setbacks after encountering obstacles in January.

Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio has also highlighted Thomas Kristensen, a defender from Udinese, as another viable option for Atalanta. Kristensen was previously a player of interest for Cristiano Giuntoli, Atalanta's new sporting director, during his tenure at Juventus.

Atalanta is expected to sell Berat Djimsiti to Al-Diriyah, leading them to consider replacements such as Jean-Clair Todibo from West Ham, Alessio Romagnoli of Lazio, and Udinese defender Thomas Kristensen.

Numerous sources are confident that Djimsiti has requested a transfer after receiving a lucrative two-year contract proposal from Saudi Pro League side Al-Diriyah.

The transfer fee on offer is also anticipated to be in the region of €3 million, which would satisfy the Bergamo club.

Atalanta Searches for a New Defender

It had already been suggested that Atalanta was in talks with West Ham United for Todibo, and he would be the first choice, although it is likely he would only be available on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

A more intriguing option would be Romagnoli, who worked well with Maurizio Sarri at Lazio and does not seem eager to remain at the Stadio Olimpico.

He was scheduled to fly to Qatar for Al-Sadd, but negotiations broke down again after already encountering obstacles in January.

Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio identifies another alternative for Atalanta in the form of Kristensen.

The Udinese defender had already been on the radar of new Atalanta director of sport Cristiano Giuntoli when he was working for Juventus.
