Done Deal: Koulierakis Completes Roma Move After €16.5m Plus Bonus Agreement
Roma have successfully concluded contract negotiations with Wolfsburg for the transfer of Konstantinos Koulierakis. Multiple sources indicate that the Giallorossi will pay an initial fee of €16.5 million, supplemented by add-ons and a 20% sell-on clause for future transfers.
The two clubs finalized the agreement and exchanged contracts this evening.
The Greek defender is scheduled to undergo his medical examinations in Rome on Saturday.
Koulierakis Poised for Roma Transfer
There are minor discrepancies in the reported transfer fee. Sky Sport Italia suggests the figure is closer to €17 million.
Meanwhile, Il Tempo provides a more detailed breakdown: €16.5 million upfront, an additional €1.5 million in performance-related bonuses, and Wolfsburg retaining a 20% share of any future sale proceeds.
Koulierakis, aged 22, has earned 22 senior caps for the Greek national team since his debut in 2022.
He emerged from the PAOK Salonika youth academy before his transfer to Wolfsburg in the summer of 2024 for a fee of €11.75 million.
Reports suggest that Koulierakis will serve as a backup to Mario Hermoso, rather than being a primary starter for coach Gian Piero Gasperini.
Crystal Palace and Benfica were among the other clubs interested in Koulierakis, but Roma has ultimately secured his signature.
