Frosinone Nearing Agreement for Burnley Striker Hountondji
Frosinone is reportedly close to finalizing the signing of Burnley striker Andreas Hountondji, a Benin international who recently completed a loan spell at St. Pauli.
According to reports from transfer insiders NicolΓ² Schira and Gianluigi Longari, the negotiations are in an advanced stage and a deal could be concluded in the coming days.
Hountondji Eager for New Opportunity with Frosinone
Burnley, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, did not have Hountondji in their squad as he was on loan in Germany during that period.
Acquired from Caen in 2024 for a fee of β¬4 million, Hountondji made only 10 appearances for Burnley across all competitions before being loaned out to Standard LiΓ¨ge and subsequently St. Pauli.
Although his contract with Burnley extends to June 2028, the club is keen to offload him. They may consider a loan deal with an option to buy, which could become an obligation if Frosinone secures their position in Serie A.
Last season, Hountondji scored four goals in 23 appearances for St. Pauli. The season prior, he netted four goals in 18 games for Standard Liège.
