Roma's €28 Million Offer for Givairo Read Rejected by Feyenoord, Negotiations Continue
Roma has not yet reached an agreement with Feyenoord for the transfer of Givairo Read, as their latest offer of €28 million plus bonuses was reportedly turned down. However, discussions are expected to continue between the two clubs.
The Italian club had hoped that their most recent proposal, which included €28 million and a 10% share of any future sale fee, would be sufficient. Despite this, both Voetbal International and Sky Sport Italia have confirmed that Feyenoord rejected the bid.
Feyenoord's Valuation for Read Stands at €30 Million
Feyenoord's asking price for the player remains firm at €30 million. With interest also coming from Nottingham Forest, the Dutch club is confident they can achieve this valuation.
Roma is persistent in their pursuit and intends to continue negotiations. Discussions are likely to cover additional clauses such as commission fees and various performance-related bonuses that could further increase the total transfer sum.
Givairo Read has reportedly already agreed to personal terms with the Serie A club and is keen to join Gian Piero Gasperini's squad, which will be competing in the Champions League.
The versatile defender, who turned 20 in June, is capable of playing on both the right and left flanks. Last season, he contributed two goals and three assists in 20 appearances across all competitions for Feyenoord.
Roma's initial offer was €25 million, representing an improvement on their first bid. However, it was not enough to meet Feyenoord's valuation.
