Napoli's Defensive Search: Badiashile and Todibo on the Radar
Reports from Italy indicate that Napoli is preparing to make an offer to Chelsea for defender Benoit Badiashile. The proposed fee is reportedly β¬17.5 million, which is slightly more than half of Chelsea's asking price of β¬30 million. Another defender on Napoli's shortlist is Jean-Clair Todibo from West Ham United.
The Italian club is facing a defensive shortage due to Alessandro Buongiorno's expected absence for two to three months following knee surgery. Sam Beukema is also not fully fit, and Juan Jesus has departed on a free transfer.
Badiashile and Todibo are Napoli's Defensive Targets
According to Sport Mediaset, Benoit Badiashile is Napoli's primary target. The club is allegedly preparing an offer of β¬17.5 million (Β£15 million). While this sum is unlikely to meet Chelsea's valuation of around β¬30 million, it could open the door for negotiations.
Napoli's ideal scenario would be to secure Badiashile on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Sky Sport Italia suggests that Jean-Clair Todibo is being considered as an alternative, particularly in light of West Ham United's relegation from the Premier League. The Hammers acquired Todibo from OGC Nice last summer for β¬40 million after an initial loan spell, and it is presumed he would not wish to play in the Championship.
