Como has officially confirmed the acquisition of Brazilian wing-back Yan Couto. The player joins the Italian club on loan from Borussia Dortmund for the 2026-27 season.

Loan Deal with Option to Buy

Reports suggest that Como will pay €2 million for Couto's season-long loan. The agreement also includes an option to purchase the player permanently for an additional €20 million. Couto, who is 24 years old, was previously signed by Dortmund for €30 million in 2024 when his loan move from Manchester City was made permanent.

Couto expressed his enthusiasm for the move, stating, "I’m very happy to be here, I really like the team’s style of play and its philosophy, and I hope I can help the team improve even more. I believe this is an important step in my career, and I can’t wait to get started."

Como's head coach, Cesc Fabregas, also shared his thoughts on the new signing: "Yan is a brave and technically strong player who gives us different options on the right side. He likes to play forward, has great energy and fits well with the way we want to play. He is still young, but already has important experience, and we believe he can continue to grow with us."

Couto is Como's fourth new signing of the current transfer window, following the arrivals of Kaiki, Mattia Liberali, Luis Milla, and Andres Cuenca.

During his tenure with Borussia Dortmund, Couto has made 40 appearances in the Bundesliga and an additional 15 in the Champions League over the past two seasons. He has also earned four caps for the Brazil national team, all of which were acquired during the 2023-24 season.
