Serie A: Milan Dominates Lecce 3-0 with Pulisic Opener

Christian Pulisic marked his return to the starting lineup with a goal in Milan's decisive 3-0 win against Lecce. Adrien Rabiot and Diego Moreira contributed further goals to the scoreline.

Following two consecutive Serie A draws against Juventus and Lazio, and a disappointing 2-0 home loss to Benfica in the Europa League, Milan fielded a stronger squad. This included Christian Pulisic's first start of the season.

Lecce faced Milan without Willem Geubbels, Omri Gandelman, and Medon Berisha. Tiago Gabriel was sidelined due to a neck sprain. The team had a poor scoring record at San Siro, failing to find the net in their last five matches there across all competitions since a 2-2 draw in October 2019.

The match also coincided with the 100th anniversary of San Siro's inauguration.

Wladimiro Falcone initially denied Pulisic, but the Milan forward soon opened the scoring. Strahinja Pavlovic delivered a long pass, which Pulisic expertly controlled, let bounce, and then finished past the advancing goalkeeper from 14 yards for his first goal of 2026.

Moments later, Samuel Chukwueze narrowly missed connecting with an Alexis Saelemaekers pass when through on goal. Following a corner, Koni De Winter headed Pulisic's cross wide, despite Gonçalo Ramos being in a better position.

An ambitious overhead kick attempt by Gonçalo Ramos after a Saelemaekers move and Chukwueze cross did not result in a goal. Pervis Estupiñán's first touch faltered on an Adrien Rabiot cross-field pass.

Pavlovic had the ball in the net from a short corner and a rebound, but the goal was disallowed for offside following Rabiot's cross.

Milan extended their lead through a fluid passing sequence. Rabiot, on the right, received a back-heel flick from Pulisic, exchanged passes with Gonçalo Ramos, and beat Falcone at the near post.

Estupiñán prevented Santiago Pierotti from tapping in a Joel Monteiro cross from close range. Milan then secured their victory when Ramos headed down a long ball for Diego Moreira. Moreira advanced, faked out a defender, and scored his first San Siro goal.

Oumar Ngom tested Mike Maignan from distance, and the goalkeeper was forced into a full-stretch save to tip Amar Fatah's low curling shot around the post, but Milan largely controlled the game.
