Raphinha's Hat-Trick Leads Barcelona to Victory Over Sevilla
FC Barcelona secured another win this Saturday evening, defeating Sevilla 3-1 on their home ground. Raphinha was the star of the match, netting a hat-trick that brought his season's goal tally to fourteen across all competitions.
Barça continues its flawless start. Undefeated since the season began, the Catalans achieved their eighth victory in as many matches, including all competitions, by beating Sevilla 3-1 this Saturday. Raphinha's performance was pivotal, as his hat-trick secured the win and ensured Barcelona remains top of the league before the 7th matchday concludes, holding 21 points.
Although Barcelona conceded the opening goal to Youssouf Fofana in the 19th minute, the Brazilian international quickly equalized with a decisive cut inside followed by a cross-shot (22nd minute).
He then skillfully headed in a cross from Lamine Yamal, who had showcased impressive footwork on the right flank (52nd minute). Raphinha further extended the lead, again assisted by Lamine Yamal. Bursting through the defense on a central run, the Brazilian finished with a chipped shot (69th minute).
Deal to Extend Contract Until 2030
Promoted to captain at the start of the season, Raphinha is in excellent form, having scored his 12th, 13th, and now 14th goals of the 2026-2027 season in all competitions. Two of these were scored during the dominant 5-1 victory over Feyenoord in their Champions League debut. Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Feyenoord's coach, commented after that match that "If you look at their play, Barça is currently the best team in the world."
Raphinha, who joined Barça in 2022 and was contracted until 2028, is set to extend his stay with the Blaugranas. Sporting Director Deco confirmed on Saturday, "As of yesterday, I can tell you that we have reached an agreement to extend Raphinha's contract; he will be with us for four more years," meaning until June 2030. The 29-year-old Brazilian forward had previously expressed his desire to finish his career at Barcelona.
