Eric Cantona Criticizes Jim Ratcliffe's Management at Manchester United

Former Manchester United star Eric Cantona stated he would not have joined the club under a manager like Jim Ratcliffe.

Eric Cantona, the legendary 'King' of Manchester United, has once again voiced his strong disapproval of the club's current leadership under Jim Ratcliffe. Cantona previously criticized the Ineos boss and co-owner in 2025, stating that the new ownership seemed intent on dismantling the club's traditions and disrespecting its legacy.

"Since Ratcliffe's arrival, the new owners want to destroy everything and disrespect everyone. Manchester United is a big family, but with Ratcliffe, it's the opposite. He no longer wants Sir Alex Ferguson as an ambassador," Cantona had declared, despite Ratcliffe naming him his all-time favorite player.

This time, the Frenchman took to TikTok to launch a significant attack on the British billionaire. Ratcliffe is accused of implementing austerity measures at Manchester United, leading to the layoff of 450 employees and an increase in ticket prices at Old Trafford.

Cantona Condemns Ratcliffe's Anti-Immigration Remarks

"Would I have signed for Manchester United during my time with Ratcliffe in charge? No. Of course not," said the 60-year-old former French international, who played for Manchester United from 1992 to 1997, a golden era that saw him win four English league titles.

Earlier this year, Ratcliffe sparked considerable controversy in the UK with his comments on immigration. "We can't have an economy with nine million people on welfare and a massive influx of immigrants. Britain has been colonized. It's too expensive," he stated.

"You know my thoughts on all of this, on that kind of policy," Cantona responded on Wednesday. "I don't understand how someone like that can say such a thing while owning a football club. Football is a very popular sport. All the greatest players come from different waves of immigration. Everywhere, in France, in England, everywhere."
