The player himself had already agreed personal terms with Juventus, with an expected salary of €2.5 million per season plus bonuses, and was keen on moving to Turin. His strong desire to join Juventus was instrumental in securing the deal for €20 million, a reduction from Bologna's initial asking price of €25 million and the defender's release clause of €28 million.
Jhon Lucumi is anticipated to undergo his medical examinations over the weekend to complete the transfer. His current contract with Bologna was set to expire at the end of the season.
