Roberto Mancini and his staff reacted with hands thrown up in the air after Michael Olise scored the opening goal from a free kick during a Nations League game between Italy and France.

In the third round of the Nations League group stage, Italy faced France. The first half ended goalless, but France took the lead after the break through a brilliant free kick from Olise.

While it appeared Rayan Cherki might take the free kick, he instead passed it to his teammate. Olise then delivered a stunning strike that hit the underside of the crossbar before finding the back of the net.

RAI pitchside reporter Tiziana Alla captured Mancini and his staff's response: "They all threw their hands up; there’s nothing else you can do in a situation like that," the journalist stated.

Alessandro Bastoni equalized for Italy thirteen minutes after Olise's goal. He regained possession high up the pitch and beat Milan goalkeeper Maignan.

Bastoni's goal marked the first goal conceded by France under their new coach, Zinedine Zidane.
